Chapter 7: Prostitutes and Dreams

As I am walking through this dense, cold white haze, I begin to remember every detail from the dream I had before that started the same way. Last time it started out with me lost and eventually I found my way to a mirror, so it must be around here somewhere. There it is… that shiny object in the distance. As I approach the mirror, everything feels far too familiar, like this isn’t just the second time I’ve done this, but rather like I have been here my whole life. An image forms in the mirror of a more ragged and rugged me but with a scraggly looking beard. This mirror-me even has blue tattoos on exposed parts of his arms and legs. I’ve never been much for tattoos, but with the intricate designs I can see myself becoming a fan. He also has a series of large scars in the shape of a giant claw over his right eye and lots of scars on his exposed arms. From the looks of him I would have guessed he had been fighting some very large and dangerous predators and over the course of some time because some of the marks look fresh. Whomever this alternate reality me is, he looks like a certified badass that has been through the meat grinder.

Looking closer at him, he appears to have yellow eyes instead of blue. As far as I am aware, there aren’t any creatures or races that have eyes that unique anywhere on Genesis. All creatures that have been turned into demons have black eyes, vampire’s eyes glow red and Forina is the only one I know that has glowing green eyes. But none of those are close to yellow, so how in the hell could someone that looks just like me have those color of eyes? My speculation that this is perhaps a me from an alternate reality or world or timeline is starting to gain more traction. He begins to turn away and approach another person slowly. What strikes me as odd is the double-bladed broadsword on his back and the gladius on his hip. I guess my artifact tower shield, Blake Gale, that was given to me by the Royal Guard isn’t good enough for this guy. Aside from him not using a priceless treasure, that broadsword is extremely impractical for combat unless you have some uncouth amount of strength. The entire length of the weapon is almost the size of my body, how ridiculous is that?

As the other person comes into full view of the mirror, it becomes apparent that she is huge, practically a monster. She is no less than six-four and is just a massive wall of muscle and blue tattoos similar to the ones the alternate me has. She also has wavy orange hair that comes down to about the middle of their back, somehow looks human, and is easily the most intimidating woman I have ever seen. Steadily flames are
